Vogar, The Most Beautiful Town between Eskifjörður and Merrimac
I've heard this type of rock called lava rope. These are rocks on the beach here in my home town of Vogar. If I had a friend who is a geologist, I'd invite them for a visit.

Yes, plenty of lava here in Vogar.
Not so sure about the "most beautiful..." part but nice enough in it´s own way.
